53 in 30 is a piece created for and featured in 2021’s Installation of Art is My Weapon—a Minneapolis based art organization that takes reclaimed guns given to the MPD in a gun buy back program and gives them to local artists to make into art. 53 in 30 refers to the statistic that every month, 53 women are killed by gun violence at the hands of an intimate partner. A percentage of proceeds from this piece will be given to Minnesota African American Heritage Museum—proof of donation will be sent to buyer after purchase
